What is Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results and I consider Reiki the best form of self-love.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, metal, and emotional.  A session is relaxing and calming and many people feel more energized, grounded, and more aware.

There is no religious affiliation to Reiki so this is beneficial to both humans and animals.  It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

While this “life force energy” is present at birth, the stress of daily life depletes us and our animals of this energy.  When this energy is not replaced, that is when we or an animal can become ill.  When I lay my hands on an animal I am able to direct the Reiki energy into the animal.  It helps relieve pain, strengthens the immune system, and balances and replenishes energy.  Just as with humans, Reiki can give an animal an additional supply of energy to use for healing and makes them less susceptible to stress and illness.

Reiki is good for everyone and every animal, regardless of health condition. It is especially beneficial for healing from injuries or surgeries and aging and transitioning both animals and people.

Distance Reiki

Distance Reiki works according to the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which holds that we are all connected, as we are all energy matter and part of a larger whole. As such, invoking this law during a distance Reiki session allows me to link an object (typically a photo) to the energy field of the recipient. When appropriate, I will also use crystals.

Distance Reiki can be sent to anyone, anywhere, at any time, but typically I seek permission from the recipient and also prefer setting up a mutual time to ensure you are open to receiving the energy.

My distance Reiki clients experience the same amount of breakthroughs as those whom I work with in person. And sometimes, their experiences feel even more powerful to them, because they were not physically present with me.

We all have access to this life force energy, otherwise known as our Chi or Qi, as it flows through each and every living being. Distance Reiki provides just one of many ways to link to and channel this energy for the healing benefit of others.
